I've worked for more than 2 years (2004-2006)at SAB Internation in Montpellier (France). SAB International is one of the, if not the, biggest computer wholesaler in the South of France. At that time, they have about 60 employees in 1 wholesale store and 5 public computer shops in Montpellier, Nîmes, Avignon and Le Pontet.
My first job in that company was to finish their websites dedicated to
local resellers. That website should allow the customers to browse the
products see if they are available or not and pre-order them. Once the pre-order sent, a system is
launch to send an email to the commercials and integrate an order into
the Business Management System software: Sage. The commercial just have
to prepare what needed, recontact the customer and once the order is
confirm, with just a click, the order is treated.
SAB International then wanted to launch an eCommerce website for individuals. Because of the work's rush, the creation of the website had been given to an external company. In the mean time, I had to setup another website that allows the customers to see the online catalog.
Once the eCommerce done, some additional work was planned to make the website interact with our Business Management System software.
For the first part of my journey at SAB International, I was the only webmaster. Then a graphic designer, Karin Haessler, had been enroled and help me alot with her great graphic skills.
For both individuals and resellers' website, I've developped a "Build your own computer" online wizard that checks the stock and automatically calculate the prices and compatibilities between the computer's component. Now this wizard had been reviewed and a new version had been developped by the new webmaster Raouf.
Here are the websites:
